Special Tour and Presentation
at
HOOVER MATH & SCIENCE ACADEMY, Schaumburg

Please join the USGBC-Illinois Green Schools Committee for a very special monthly meeting at Hoover Math and Science Academy in Schaumburg School District 54.

 Agenda: 5:30 to 7:30pm

  • Students and staff will showcase their ‘Green Thumb Club’ where students grow food in the school’s greenhouse, then harvest and donate to the Schaumburg Village Food Pantry.  Learn about how they instilled Environmental Literacy through their STEM program.
  • School community members and staff will present their transformational experience ‘growing’ their own green school, followed by group discussion, Q&A.

  • Representative Michelle Mussman, 56th District, will be present to discuss her support for Green Schools in Illinois.
  • Tour their building to discovery “Building as Teaching Tool” and how their solar panels act to report energy generation.
