Join the U.S. Green Building Council - Illinois Chapter's Chicago Branch for Does a Sustainability Program Benefit the Owner?

This presentation will provide an owner's perspective on integrating sustainability within a broad and diverse capital development program.

Throughout the Public Building Commission's multi-year program, the team adapted sustainability strategies based upon lessons learned on evolving prototypes of various building designs for schools, libraries, police stations, fire stations, parks, and senior centers.  Effective partnering and collaboration resulted in providing projects that optimized building performance while mindful of owner's future operating budgets and maintenance capacity.  This program results in significant aggregate benefits to the city of Chicago in terms of resources used, environmental impact and quality of life.
