Insulation around a building’s heating and cooling system is a vital resource that protects a facility from energy loss and physical damage. When working appropriately, these systems can maximize energy effectiveness,  minimize waste and provide cost savings.

Join USGBC-Illinois and the Heat & Frost Insulators/Local 17 at their new training facility for an education program outlining the impact of a properly installed mechanical system and explaining why it is essential to sustainable design and construction. Representatives from Peoples and North Shore Gas and Nicor will provide an update on incentives offered in relation to mechanical insulation. (Approved for 2.0 GBCI CE and AIA LU|HSW|SD hours)

The presentation includes:

  • Mechanical Insulation 101: The effects and benefits
  • The ROI of insulation upgrades (case study data)
  • Energy saving, emissions reduction, and cost savings
  • The 3E Insulation Assessment Program, a DOE approved appraisal tool
  • Utility incentives and savings available
