Commonality and solidarity in mission are critical aspects of successful project delivery, particularly when applied to high-performance and sustainable affordable housing that engages the community. This presentation focuses on over a decade of strategies, lessons learned, successes & failures, and the future of sustainable affordable housing. Despite never collaborating on single project together, Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH), Landon Bone Baker Architects (LBBA), and DataBased+ (DB+) come together to discuss unique challenges in the affordable housing market and how evolving practices can reshape and enrich both the building infrastructure and the community as a whole.

The presentation will cover broad sustainable practices and community engagement in addition to technical discussion on the building envelope, HVAC strategies, code/certification variances, and performance metrics.
