This presentation focuses on the technical requirements of PHIUS verification that have design implications for both single family and multifamily dwellings. While some requirements, such as blower door testing, are generally well-understood by Passive House designers, others are more opaque. While it is the job of the Verifier, not the Designer, to perform all required tests and inspections, Designers can benefit from an understanding of which specific parts of their design will ultimately be tested. By gaining a basic understanding of these requirements and additional certifications, Designers can position their projects for a higher degree of success within the Passive House system.

Panelists include current PHIUS+ Verifiers and a construction manager for Habitat for Humanity, who will all provide insight into the construction process.
