Given relatively low capacity to bounce-back from disruptions, low-income communities and affordable housing properties especially vulnerable to the impacts of extreme weather events. Already, communities are experiencing fires, floods, hurricanes, and other events that call for increased focus on building resilient housing and communities. In this session, thought-and-action leaders will facilitate a discussion in which practitioners are invited to share their experiences on how to understand, value, and finance measures that help communities better withstand and recover from weather-related disasters.

The presenters will share examples of how their organizations have envisioned and completed projects that increase resilience, including green infrastructure and property-level hardening. This opportunity for knowledge exchange will raise and help address critical questions facing the financial sector as we prepare communities to weather the storm.
