Join Illinois Green Alliance & Passive House Alliance Chicago for a web-based case study and discussion of the River Trails School District 26 Kindergarten and Preschool Learning Center a net zero renovation in Mt. Prospect!

The River Trails School District 26 Kindergarten and Preschool Learning Center is an envelope and systems retrofit of an existing 1960s elementary school. It is designed to offset all of its energy needs with onsite renewable energy and is currently pursuing PHIUS+2018 and PHIUS+ Source Zero CertificationsThe project is a recipient of the Net Zero Building Grant from the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation.

During this webinar, the Certified Passive House Consultant (CPHC) discussed the unique issues and solutions associated with meeting the stringent PHIUS certification requirements for this project. The CPHC joined the project team led by FGM Architects at the end of the Design Development Phase. This presentation focused on the details and systems that had to be adjusted to meet the PHIUS certification requirements. The project was in the pre construction phase when this webinar was recorded.
