(MMC) has established the goal of LEED CI certification for all new projects going forward - two of which are planned here in the Chicago area in the coming year.   During this tour and case study, we will look at strategies employed to achieve LEED Gold for Commercial Interiors, the role of green champions in the success of a LEED project and how the initial goal of LEED certification for projects going forward has had operational and project implications for MMC as a whole. Speakers include the MMC LEED project manager, LEED Facilitator from the architect and LEED manager for the construction. We will address strategies employed and lessons learned  during the project and how these lessons have impacted MMC policies and procedures. The session will include a walking tour of the MMC Chicago Office and a formal presentation walking through case study aspects of the LEED CI process.

Chicago has more LEED buildings than any other city in the world, but that doesn't make it a "green city."

At this special NeoCon Green Drinks, we will explore with renowned urban planner Doug Farr and development guru James Loewenberg the necessity of looking beyond green buildings to the larger systems in which they exist should we desire to create more sustainable and livable cities, as well as the barriers and opportunities for businesses that come with it. This journey into the vibrant intersection of design, business and the environments in which we live is not to be missed.

Presented by the Foresight Sustainable Business Alliance, in partnership with the U.S. Green Building Council - Illinois Chapter, Green Drinks-Business Edition is the premier place to connect with Chicago's forward-looking enterprises. Bring clients, connect with colleagues, and develop opportunities while enjoying über sandwiches and organic desserts from Hannah's Bretzel and responsibly crafted drinks from Koval, The Naked Grape, and Stone Brewing Co. in the newly redesigned (but always sustainability-focused) Haworth Showroom.
