The USGBC - Illinois Chapter Emerging Professionals Committee is sponsoring a home for the 2011 Rebuilding Together National Rebuilding Day on April 30th, 2011.  This is a day on which thousands of volunteers come together to complete home repair projects for low-income, disabled and elderly residents.  The home and community renovations completed on National Rebuilding Day benefit families, seniors, and people with disabilities whose limited income has made it difficult to maintain their homes.  We will be pursuing a sustainable renovation of the home and will incorporate sustainable education to the homeowner.

The USGBC - Illinois Chapter's Emerging Professionals received a grant to sponsor the home repair, however, each volunteer is required to contribute a registration fee to cover their t-shirt, food, water, insurance, and additional volunteer expenses.  Minimal skilled labor is needed for the home repair and Rebuilding Together partners with trade organizations to provide more extensive services to the homes including electrical, plumbing and carpentry.  Volunteers will be contacted before the event with day of logistics.
