When we reach the true pinnacle of well-being design, we will be creating spaces and opportunities to positively impact our population’s health.

Join IIDA Illinois and the Illinois Green Alliance (formerly USGBC-Illinois) for a conversation and tour of the new Chicago HKS offices, built using the WELL Building Standard. We'll begin to develop an understanding of how design can positively impact well-being; providing a healthier environment, and the possibility of improved population health. We will explore how to address these issues using concepts from the WELL Building Standard. We will begin to equip you with an understanding of how to make more informed product selections by understanding what to look for and where to find health hazard information. We’ll also discuss some of the interventions that can be made in the design of a space to further enhance and improve the lives of its occupants.

Launched in October 2014 after six years of research and development, the WELL Building Standard is the premier standard for buildings, interior spaces and communities seeking to implement, validate and measure features, that support and advance human health and wellness.

Presented by HKS Interior Designer Lida Lewis, Director of Wellbeing Design. Lida resides in, and works from the HKS Washington
