Join the USGBC - Illinois Chapter's Chicago Branch and ASHRAE Illinois for an expert panel discussion on building commissioning!

The session will open with a brief introduction of different types and applications of commissioning (commissioning for new construction, retro-commissioning, on-going commissioning, and continuous commissioning) and be followed by a panel discussion from local commissioning authorities.  The program will feature a panel of experienced and knowledgeable commissioning authorities who have worked on a variety of projects throughout the area. Panelists will be able to discuss integration of commissioning with the different LEED standards. This will be a highly interactive presentation. After each panelist gives an introduction to the topic, we will move into a Q&A format between all of the panelists and the attendees. Come with your commissioning questions!

Continuing Education: This program is approved for 1.5 GBCI CE hours, AIA HSW/SD hours, and continuing education for engineers.

After this session attendees will:

  • Leave with a clear understanding of the value commissioning adds to a project.
  • Understand what time a commissioning authority should be brought onto a project.
  • Understand the commissioning process and requirements.
  • Understand the costs associated with commissioning.
  • Understand the time it takes to perform commissioning tasks.
  • Understand the tasks associated with commissioning among various trades.
  • Know some of the issues commissioning authorities commonly face.
