Join the USGBC - Illinois Chapter's West Suburban Branch for an educational panel discussion about solar thermal technologies, systems, applications, costs, and incentives.
This event has been approved for 2.0 GBCI CE hours.
This session starts with the basics of solar thermal technology and progresses to more advanced topics within solar design. It will provide attendees with knowledge of the unique types of solar thermal technologies and working fluids, to judge the effectiveness of the systems in individual applications. Attendees will learn how environment, installation angles, working temperatures, and working fluid impact the yields of solar thermal systems. Also covered will be various types of solar thermal systems and their applications in hot water, heating and air conditioning systems. Solar photovoltaics will also be discussed briefly. Lastly, attendees will learn the total ownership costs of solar thermal, incentive programs, and how incentives effect the return on investment.
As an added plus, a brief overview of the Oak Park Public Works Center, our event venue, will be provided along with a discussion of their LEED Gold Certification.
