Before the LEED rating system existed, Klaus and Teri Hoffmann were living sustainably. They were ahead of their time in saving energy, changing landscaping, growing food, and reducing their carbon footprint as they transformed a Rockford, IL ranch to a net zero electric home. Starting as early 1994, see the transformation of their home, car, and lifestyle.

The Hoffman's will share their story of transformation and their pursuit of true sustainable living. Learn about the changes made to their existing house over 21 years to get to a net zero electric home. This event will provide a great learning experience on how small changes can result in a fully sustainable home (including their electric car, chemical-free landscaping, and power reduction strategies). The Hoffman's home was recently featured in the Rockford Register Star newspaper.

Tour the interior and exterior of this home and see what makes this home so special. It will inspire you to start your own green home transformation.
