The Southwest and Northwest Suburban Branches
invites you Northside Park, one of Wheaton’s most beloved parks featuring stunning views of fully restored lakes with natural shorelines. The Wheaton Park District will showcase the use of native vegetation and stormwater best management practices that helped Northside Park become such a treasured gem for the community.

This locally-catered, family-friendly presentation will feature speakers from the Park District and the ecologists monitoring the Park’s success.  There are trails, boardwalks and bridges providing vistas of the restored lake and a playground (including an awesome 90-foot zipline!) for families attending the event.

By successfully integrating native vegetation and stormwater best management practices into their properties the Wheaton Park District has learned to create beautiful open spaces that reduce operational costs and provide multiple benefits.  This event will demonstrate how ecological restoration, permeable paving systems and wetland detention systems were used at Northside Park and how they can be implemented on your projects.

So come on out and enjoy this beautiful park! You’ll meet great people, eat delicious food and might even learn a thing or two.  See you soon.
