Jobs and careers have grown over 9% in the clean energy sector since 1997 compared to 3.7% for the rest of the nation.  This program will help college/university students, institutional faculty, and new/experienced job seekers prepare themselves for employment opportunities in the emerging green economy.

Our first speaker will be Ms. Leith Sharp, Executive Director of the Illinois Green Economy Network (IGEN).  IGEN will unite the state's 48 community colleges in a join effort to stimulate the state's green economy through the strategic provision of green workforce training, market transformation, and community outreach (www.igencc.org).  Our second speaker will be Ms. Juliana Goodlaw-Morris, Program Manager for the National Wildlife Federation's current collaboration with Jobs for the Future (JFF).  The Greenforce Initiative: Advancing Green Careers is a two-year project to promote education, innovation, and training at community colleges in six states to prepare job seekers for career opportunities in the emerging green economy (www.greenforceinitiative.org).  We also will have two industry experts - Daniel Bulley and Michael Nenni - discussing careers in the HVAC industry and energy services market.

This program is a must attend for those exploring job and career opportunites in the emerging green economy.
